This guy flew over our place around 1700 local. Then he did five or six
touch and goes. Problem for me was that he was using runway 07L and when he
came around from the north to line up he was always below the tree line
north of my house. Lots of noise but not a lot of visuals for us poor
photogs, Tom

Looks like a VFA-32 bird maybe in the tanker configuration?

Aah, the final blow to the S-3's and a major step back in history when the
attack aircraft acted as tankers (A-6's)

Is the KF/A an airframe mod like the KA-6 or just a straight F/A with a
buddy store? I know the KA-6D had the hose and drogue actually installed in
the airframe.

Moving back a bit earlier, the KA-3 was a modified A-3 airframe.

Thanks for the info Mike. I've been realizing the last couple of weeks how
much has changed in the Naval Aviation world since I retired 10 years ago.
